Referrals - no competitors

We hate competition for web development projects - It always seems to end up with the client opting for the cheapest quote!

Looking at our current eight projects at the moment, while three are from clients that have contacted us independently the other five are direct referrals from existing/happy customers.

Obvious thing to say but it shows how important word of mouth is in any form of business.

The advantages of being the sole developer putting forward a proposal are numerous - the main one being that you are 99% certain of getting the job!

How do you position your business so that you're the only ones quoting on a project?

1. We ask our happy clients to refer us to their friends

2. We position ourselves as experts so that existing and potential clients assume we're the best and never consider going elsewhere.

Its all about trust.

If you're a trusted provider theres no reason for the prospect to go anywhere else.

Fairly simple really but it can turn you fro ma struggling web company into a successful one.
